Popular Bands Named After a Food

Music is so important to me
I had a great time growing up in a era when music was so special. You went to dances and you actually touched the person you were dancing with. In fact, some people referred to slow dancing as having "sex with your clothes on". The drinking age was 21 at the time, so there were a lot of teenage dance halls that I had the pleasure of working at and spun a few 45's in my day. Some of the local bands were just outstanding,
Personally, I am a huge fan of old R & B music like Otis Redding, James Brown and the old Ike & Tina Turner Revue. Maybe my list of food related bands are not that popular but most of them you could dance to and that was what music should make you do. I got into the guitar and keyboards and even sang a little. There is no greater high than performing live on stage and you can hear a pin drop when you start a song. And when people give you a standing ovation, that is pretty special.
So here's some of my food related performers
- Cream (with "Slow Hand of course")
- Hot Chocolate
- Wild Cherry
- Bread
- Chuck Berry
- Three Dog Night (some sort of feast in Viet Nam
- The Animals (OK so it doesn't work for vegetarians)
Now if you asked for song titles, here are a few that just came out of my head
- Sugar Pie Honey
- Red Beans & Rice
- Green Onions
- American Pie
- 30,000 Pounds of Bananas
- I Heard It Through The Grapevine
- Cut The Cake
- Memphis Soul Stew
- Peel Me A Grape
- Bird On A Wire (Ducks, Chickens, Geese, etc. are all birds)
Now here's the tough part. Name the recording artist that did these songs. We'll even let you pick some of the alternatives because some of these songs were made famous by more than one artist.

Three dog night is actually referring to a night so cold that you would need three dogs in bed with you to keep warm. The origin is either Inuit or Australian aboriginal. :)
